Lucia F. Machado, 55, of Douglas Ave passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Born in Ribeira Grande, St. Michael, she was the daughter of the late Joao Z. and Maria Jose Camara (de Oliveira) Machado.

She was sister of Natalie Pacheco of Bristol, Mariano Machado of Tiverton, Alda Amaral of Achushnet, Manuela Machado of Bristol, Jean Gibbs of Walpole and the late John Machado; aunt of Mark Machado, Jennifer Machado-Renchan, Jessica Pacheco, Daniel Pacheco, Veronica Pacheco, Tony Amaral, Pamela Amaral-Lema, Corinne DaRocha, Ian Gibbs and Brodie Gibbs and great aunt of Alexia Machado, Taylor Machado, Cristiano Machado, Mateus Machado, Keegan Dutelle, Luke Renchan, Winter Pacheco-Riley, Shawn Lema and Nygel Luis Gomes.

Lucia was a graduate of Bristol High School and was employed as a secretary at RI Hospital.  Her funeral was held Saturday, June 15 with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Richard Narciso at St. Elizabeth Church.  Liturgical readings were by Betty Green and Pamela Amaral-Lema.  The offertory gifts were presented by Jessica Pacheco, Jennifer Machado-Renchan and Corinne DaRocha. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were Raul Brum, Fernando Machado, Michael Machado, Carlos Machado, Tony Amaral and Joe DeMello.
