LOL PD: Warren man caught mowing lawn at 2:30 a.m.

A Warren man who apparently was trying to be a good son got himself in a bit of trouble when he set out to mow his parents' lawn — in the dead of night.

Police were called to the Hanley Lane home at 2:41 a.m. last Tuesday, Sept. 4, after a neighbor complained about the noise. The man, whose parents own the house, said he was mowing the grass at that hour because he had no choice — he had a flight in a few hours and wanted to make sure the grass was cut before he left.

Police advised him to quiet down for the night; no word on whether he was able to finish the job.

In other lawn care news, police were called to a Broad Street home a day earlier after a woman complained about finding something in her yard. Police said the "something" was a handful of arbor vitae clippings that a neighbor had cut, and which had accidentally fallen into the woman's yard. They advised her to pick them up and throw them away.
