Local musicians perform Cash, Carter tribute in Pawtucket

"Jimmy and Joyce love Johnny and June"
"Jimmy and Joyce love Johnny and June"  features Rhode Island-based musicians Joyce Katzberg and Jimmy Warren in an homage to the music, lives and love of Johnny Cash and June Carter. The show will  premier at Stone Soup Coffeehouse located at 50 Park Place, Pawtucket, RI on February 23, 2013.   Cash and Carter's creative spark, rebelliousness, compassion and humor are the raw material of this show.    Neither Jimmy nor Joyce will be attempting to look like or otherwise imitate Johnny or June but rather hope to bring new voices and a deep appreciation to the songs that were loved and performed by the legendary duo. Both Katzberg and Warren have spent decades on stage and bring a wide range of experience to their performances.  Joyce Katzberg has been referred to by Pete Seeger as having “one of the best voices I have ever heard.” Jimmy Warren has recorded with Cold Zipper, No Shamus and the Flying Ditchdiggers. Jimmy's song, “Mr. Whiskey” has been recorded and performed by many other artists.
