Little Compton Public Schools is seeking qualified excavation contractors to sub- mit proposals for site work necessary to allow for the setup of temporary class- rooms that will be used during the reno- vation of Wilbur McMahon School.

The scope of work will include, but not be limited to:

Site grading Driveway improvements Walkways Septic system

Bid documents, including General Notes, Drawings, Bid Form and Agreement for Construction Services are available on the school’s website at A manda- tory pre-bid conference will be convened on Monday September 10, 2012 at 9:00 am at the Little Compton Town Hall, with a site visit to follow.

Completed proposals will be due at the Town Hall on Friday, September 14, 2012 at 3:30 pm. A public opening will be convened at that time in Town Council chambers.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
