Linden Place Mansion Joins Bristol Art Night

Posted

For the first time ever, Linden Place will join Art Night in leading you on a path to fine art by foot, bike, car, or trolley! Drop in on Thursday, July 26, 2018 between 6pm and 8pm to observe vibrant art at the Mint Gallery, antique artifacts at the Bristol Historical and Preservation Society and listen to the joyous compositions of the plucked string band, Enigmatica, in the parlors of Linden Place Mansion. Enigmatica is a New England-based mandolin ensemble that performs a variety of music including Baroque, Brazillian, electric contemporary, and Americana.

In addition to live music, guests can tour the rooms of Linden Place and learn about the 200-year history that lies within its walls while observing the antique furniture and belongings that have been left behind by seven generations of the Dewolf and Colt families.

Art Night events take place every year between the months of May through September. Art-makers, advocates, and business owners collaborate in an effort to support the creative community of Bristol and Warren. This event is free and open to the public. Reserve your seat on the guided trolley tour by visiting www.artnightbristolwarren.org/.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
