On behalf of the Barrington High School Club Sailing Team, we would like to thank everyone who helped us get to the ISSA High School Coed National Championships in Seabrook, Texas on May 11 and 12.

It was an incredible experience for sailors and coaches alike; with 137 high school sailors representing 20 teams from all over the country, completing 34 races over two days. While our results fell short of our expectations (17th in A Division, 18th in B Division, 19th overall), we experienced great competition and sportsmanship from the many talented teams. Many lessons have been learned, but the most impactful is clearly the support that this little sailing team from this little state has received.

Whether it be from our local business community (Residential Properties, Quantum Sails, Gob Shop, Barrington Times), our school community (Barrington Athletic Boosters, Mr. Finn, Mr. Hurley, our teachers), our local sailing community (Barrington Yacht Club, Hotchkiss School Sailing Team, Tabor Academy Sailing Team, Roger Williams University Sailing Team, Brown University Sailing Team), the Lakewood Yacht Club and many event volunteers, the general sailing community (Hotchkiss students, parents, and alumni, US Sailing, ScuttleButt, Sailing Anarchy), our friends, and especially our families, we are forever grateful.

Sailing at Nationals was an unforgettable experience with memories which will last a lifetime. The kindness and generosity of so many people who made the journey possible will never be forgotten.

With sincere gratitude and appreciation,

Coach Dennis Kloc,

Chaperone Kristen Kreuzkamp
