Letter: Poll workers help ensure smooth election

Posted

To the Editor:

The most important thing that any one of us can do as a citizen is to participate in the electoral process. Voting is a fundamental right and responsibility and the future of our democracy depends upon it.

This year, as in every election year, the Bristol Board of Canvassers is working to ensure that our Bristol elections will run smoothly and efficiently and is recruiting poll workers to aid in this essential process.

Being a poll worker can be a very rewarding and fulfilling experience and we invite each and every citizen in our town to apply for one of these important positions.

If you are interested in becoming a poll worker, or would like to obtain more information about directly participating on election days, please contact the Town Clerk’s Office, Town Hall, 10 Court Street, call 253-7000, or e-mail the Town Clerk at  HYPERLINK "mailto:lpcirillo@bristolri.us" lpcirillo@bristolri.us
