Recently I purchased a home at Countryview Estates. One of the deciding factors in purchasing my new home was the promise of a roundabout at the intersections of Route 81, Stafford Road and Hurst Lane.
For years, this intersection has been extremely hazardous. I am confident that the roundabout will alleviate these traffic problems and make this area of town safer.
With regards to allowing Twin River to operate 24 hours a day, I believe we should adopt the practices of the Town of Lincoln. By allowing for 24-hours-a-day operations, those of us living in the area of the facility will not be adversely affected by a mass exodus of patrons at 2 a.m.
In addition, we will not have delivery trucks, employees and patrons lined upon on Route 81 waiting for the facility to open for the day. Without a set closing time, patrons and employees will leave the facility over the course of the day, which will be beneficial to traffic flow in the area.
A key feature of the new Twin River facility is the hotel. The operation of the hotel will be 24 hours a day, so it only makes sense that the facility should remain open to accommodate these guests.
Finally, the increase in revenues generated by 24-hours-a-day operation can only help the town and the state.
