To the editor:

As a Riverside resident for over 10 years, l am writing to express my concerns, and those of my neighbors, about the confusion created by Vision Appraisal and the East Providence city leaders regarding residential property revaluations.

When l received the 2015 appraisal on my single family home, l requested consideration for a lower valuation noting that the new value of $334300 was a 25% increase from 2014. At this appeal, I presented comparable properties that had sold recently which were of the same size house and of the same size land as mine. There was a large price difference — much lower than my new appraised figure.

Then, the other day. l received a revised 2015 valuation from Vision Appraisal. The new figure of $377,900 is a 46% increase over the 2014 value.

What justifies this change from 25% to 46% in a few short weeks? \Who knows? What is the rationale being used by Vision Appraisal and the City of East Providence" ls the Riverside area being unfairly singled out?

These questions need to be addressed and fair revisions made to end this confusion created by Vision Appraisal and the City leaders.
