Bravo to Town Councilor Mary Parella. Finally, a recycle idea that makes sense, that doesn’t invade or obstruct the way local companies do business, like banning recyclable shopping bags.
The idea of the Pink Bags is to recycle clothes, shoes, purses, toys and other textiles. Put your unwanted items in the Pink Bags and an agency collects the bags and sends them to places where they would do the most good. Whether it be in this country or others.
We have to thank Mrs. Parella for spearheading this more sensible solution to recycling. The Pink Bag Project will officially begin Oct. 29 (according to Bristol Phoenix, Oct 11). This Simple Recycling project will save the town of Bristol “a tipping fee of $47 per ton,” said Ms. Parella.
Ms. Parella encouraged people who often donate to Big Brothers, Big Sisters and Good Will to continue to do so.
Again, bravo for introducing the Town of Bristol to this very noteworthy project.
