Letter: A true coincidence in a Barrington neighborhood

To the editor:

I never write letters to the editor. However, this story is one I have long wanted to tell.

One day, approximately twenty years ago, I was outside my home when I said to my neighbor, John McCabe, that I had to go home as my family had a birthday cake ready for me.

John replied, "It's my birthday, too."

Further inquiry revealed that we were both born on April 4, 1950 at the old Lying In Hospital. In checking the birth certificates, I determined that I was six minutes older than John. The numbers of the certificates indicate that there was one baby born in the State of Rhode Island between the two of us.

We have lived across the street from each other for more than 30 years and have both been blessed with two children (same ages). While not earth-shattering, it is truly coincidental.
