Rice Paper Photo Collage

Recreate your favorite photograph as a collage using rice papers, fun papers, paint and markers. Your photo will be enlarged and printed on a 8”x 10” piece of rice paper. You will recreate the photo as a collage. This is a great class for anyone who wants to turn a photo memory into a work of art. No previous art or crafting experience needed!

Supply list:

Color Photo 8x10, black fine and extra fine tip permanent markers. Sharpie or other marker. Different types of papers for collage (newspaper, printed wrapping paper pieces, other fun-type papers. Note: Digital photos may be printed from your phone or digital camera, or we can use an 8”x10” color copy or print to reproduce at the studio onto the rice paper.

Instructor will provide: Rice papers and assorted printed “fun” papers, acrylic paints, brushes.

This class is held in 2 sessions.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
