Kickemuit Middle School wrestlers 4-0 on season


Kickemuit Middle School wrestlers are having a storybook season and are currently undefeated a t 4-0. The team jkust placed second overall at the Birchwood Tournament this weekend in North Providence. Placing in the tournament were Devon Lancaster (first place, 126 pounds), Neil Thibaudeau (first place, 133 pounds), Cory Barnowski (second place, 159 pounds), Devon Viera (second place, 275 pounds), Cam Nappi (third place, 89 pounds), Noah Mallon (fourth place, 75 pounds), Noah Braga (fourth place, 104 pounds), Tori Zasowski (fourth place, 119 pounds) and Jacob Semiao (fourth place, 148 pounds). Following are the results from the first half of the season. Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
