John A. Viveiros, 75, Bristol


John A.  Viveiros Jr, 75, of Bristol, passed away Sunday at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. He was the husband of Mary Gloria (DaSilva) Viveiros.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons David Viveiros of South Burlington VT, Paul Viveiros and wife Beth of Newton, Mass.; sister Isabel Oliveira of Bristol and grandsons Jacob and Daniel Viveiros.

A funeral will be held on Thursday, Aug. 14 at 10 a.m. from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Church, 577 Wood St. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours were held Tuesday, Aug. 12, 5-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986.
