Jean E. Minor, 44, Fall River

Jean E. (Shaw) Minor, 44, of Fall River died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at home.  Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of Ethel J. (Peckham) Shaw of Westport and the late Russell E. Shaw.

Mrs. Minor was a realtor for KAM Realty in Fall River.

Including her mother, survivors include her fiancé, Frank D. Minor of Fall River; two sons, Brian E. Minor of Fall River and Andrew R. Minor of Fall River; two daughters, Krissany L. Desmarais of Fall River and Kailey A. Minor of Fall River; four brothers, Russell E. Shaw of Arizona, William B. Shaw of Westport, Scott E. Shaw of Westport and Mark A Shaw of North Rochester; two sisters, Ann E. Shaw of Fairhaven and Lynn E. Smith of Westport; a granddaughter, Delia S. Desmarais; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be Friday, Nov. 8, at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport at   10a.m.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once.
