Janice A. (Mercure) Beauregard, 74, passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013.

She was the wife of Clement E. Beauregard.

Born in Fall River, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Alfred V. and Adelaide (Correira) Mercure.

After attending the Arthur Angelo School of Hairdressing, she was a hairdresser for 30 years. Janice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan M. Teixeira and Allyson M. Beauregard; grandchildren, Nicholaus, Andrew and Jonathan; and devoted companion, Jack.

Her funeral service was held in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Fall River. Burial was in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, PO Box 9376, Framingham, MA 01701.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
