Hugh Cole Spring Fair is Saturday

Posted

Spring is here, and that means one thing: The Hugh Cole School is holding its community spring fair this Saturday, March 22.

The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and it’s free to get in (go to the gym and cafeteria). There, there will be games, raffles, food and vendors, and more. Dancers from Just Dance! will give a demonstration, and Rocky Silva’s American Karate will give karate lessons to the kids. Other activities include games, crafts and the Boy Scouts’ pinewood derby track. There will be raffle with more than 35 prizes donated by vendors, including a giant gift card baskt, a karate basket, a 90-minute massage and a $100 Pawtucket Red Sox game family pack.

Meet our staff
Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
