Henry A. Smith Jr., 84, St. Lucie, Fla.


Henry Adelard Smith, Jr. 84, of Port St. Lucie, FL and formerly of Warren, died Monday, Nov. 12, in Jensen Beach, FL.  He was the husband of Josephine A. (Scolaro) Smith, to whom he had been married for over 63 years.

Born in Warren, he was the son of the late Henry A. and Catherine (Vida) Smith and had lived in Warren until retiring to Florida. He was a maintenance man for the Warren School Department for over 10 years, retiring in 1990.

Henry was a US Navy veteran of World War II.

He is survived by four sons, three daughters-in-law, six daughters and three sons-in-law, Joseph H. and Pat Smith of South Attleboro, MA, Kathleen and Hank Myers of Portsmouth, Richard C. and Georganne Smith of Swansea, Joann Smith of Port St. Lucie, Carol and Steve Leigh of Hobe Sound, FL, John J. and Deborah Smith of Rehoboth, Donna M. Smith of Warren, Kenneth C. Smith of Warren, Christine Perreira of Stuart, FL, and Laurie and Douglas Dion of North Smithfield; 27 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 9 a.m. from the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Warren, with a Mass of Christian burial at  10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St., Warren. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Vernon Street, Warren.
