Helen Hellew, 96, Warren


Helen Hellew, 96, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Crestwood Nursing Home in Warren.

Born in West Warwick, a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Corey) Hellew, she had lived in Warren for 94 years. She was employed by Best Made Dress Shop and, as shop steward, was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers.

Her family was her life. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking and was a fabulous cook.

She was the loving sister of Anna Souraty Boulos of Walpole, Mass., and George Souraty and Marie Glover Dias, both of Warren. She leaves three nieces and three nephews and was the sister of the late Joseph Souraty, Elizabeth Krulikowski and Rose Cartin.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 7. Funeral services are at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 8t from the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St Mary of the Bay Church, Main Street, Warren.
