Haunted hayride coming to Sowams School Octoberfest

Sowams School will host its annual October Festival on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event, which serves as an important fund-raiser for the school’s parent-teacher organization, will feature a number of fun games for kids of all ages.

There will be arts and crafts, airbrushed tattoos, hair beading, pony rides, a moon bounce, an obstacle course, nail and face painting, mystery bags, cookie decorating, karoake and machine pitch baseball.

The Sowams October Festival will also include a silent auction and basket raffles. This year organizers are also pleased to announce the newest addition to the day: The Sowams Haunted Hayride!

The well-known and much-loved bake walk will return to the festival. In addition, there will be hot dogs and hamburgers, popcorn and cotton candy.

The event will be held rain or shine. Octoberfest is the primary fund-raiser at Sowams Elementary School run by the parent-teacher organization.
