Halloween comes on Sunday in Warren

Trick or Treat!

The Warren Recreation Department is hosting an early Halloween this Sunday, and has organized a giant Trick or Treat from 1 to 3 p.m. More than a dozen businesses are taking part.

First, youngsters dressed up in their costumes can trick or treat along Main Street from 1 to 3 p.m. (see participating businesses at the end of the article, or just look for orange and black balloons).

Also, there will be several Halloween events at the Mary V. Quirk School. Arts and crafts start at 2 p.m., and a magic show by the Brenner Family starts at 3 p.m.

Businesses taking part in the trick or treat included Quality Consignment, Blue Horse, Edible Arrangements, White Tiger, Muze, THe Wax Pot, Imagine, Dunkin Donuts, The Restaurant, Whimsies, Savon Shoes, Federal Hill Pizza, The Coffee Depot, Subway, Boheme, Bella Yarn, In Your Ear, Selective Eye, Stella Marie and Woof.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
