Girls Lacrosse: Mt. hope beats Narragansett, loses to Lincoln School

Jenna Cimbron and Grace Moclair led the Mount Hope High School girls lacrosse team over Narragansett 16-8 in a home game on Friday afternoon. Cimbron and Moclair scored 5 goals and 4 assists each. Goal keeper Morgan Kane recorded 8 saves. Allie Reavis chipped in with 2 goals and 3 assists. Jillian Parker scored 1 goal and had 1 assist and Caroline Parker, Ella Hanley and Maddie Comell each scored a goal for the Huskies.

The second place Lady Huskies improved their record to 10-2 in Division II and look primed for the playoffs. On Monday, the team lost to the undefeated Lincoln School 15-7. That left the second place Huskies with a 10-2 record in Division II. Goal keeper Morgan Kane had 12 saves, but couldn’t stop Lincoln forward Natalie Landau who scored 5 goals and had 6 assists.

Grace Moclair scored 4 goals, Cimbron scored 2 and Allie Reavis scored 1 for the Huskies.

Next up: The Huskies host Middletown on Thursday at 4 p.m.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once.
