Get ready for Earth Day in Warren

It may be a few weeks off, but it's not too early to start planning for Warren's marking of Earth Day on Saturday, April 27.

As in past years, the Warren Conservation Commission and Dunkin Donuts will sponsor a town-wide cleanup throughout the day. Dozens of volunteers are needed to clean trash from town beaches, parks, roadsides and wooded areas. In return, they'll get a sense of satisfaction, a "Thank You" from organizers and just as good, a free T-Shirt and food.

This year's shirts were designed by Warren artist Richard Kaiser. To get yours, show up at the Pete Sepe Pavilion at 9 a.m., sign in, grab some coffee and pick up clean-up bags. From there, get your assignment (or specify where you'd like to clean) and head out. There will also be a hot dog roast at the pavilion at noon.

Don't forget to wear appropriate clothing, like ratty jeans, heavy shirts and gloves. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
