Germaine E. (Alves) Lagarto, 86, of Fountain Ave., Portsmouth, passed away on May 18. She was the wife of Louis L. Lagarto, her husband of 65 years.

Born in Bristol, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Santos) Alves. She was the mother of Louis Lagarto of Middleboro, Mass. and Jeanne (Mark) Oliveira of Rehoboth, Mass.; grandmother of Daniel (Shannon) Lagarto of Bristol, Travis Oliveira and Tyler Oliveira of Rehoboth; sister of Mary (Edward) Almeida of Warren, Dorothy Schinigoi of Bristol and Leonora Muccino of Warren. She was the sister of the late John, Edmund, Joseph and Manuel Alves, Mable Soares and Alice Travers.

Germaine attended Bristol schools and was a electronics assembler for Hartman Systems for 11 years before retiring.

All are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Wednesday, June 18, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will be private.
