Gallery: Late counselor Barron memorialized by East Providence High community

EAST PROVIDENCE — Past and present students, faculty and staff, family and friends gathered on a sun-drenched morning Friday, June 20, for a memorial service honoring the late James Barron, a beloved former guidance counselor at East Providence High School who passed away earlier this year.

Mr. Barron spent over two decades in the advisory department. A tree was planted on the school grounds near the tennis courts and teachers' parking area in honor of his memory by the Townie Volunteer Corps, the high school's student-based community service organization.

East Providence Post editor Mike Rego captured the event in photos. Intern Joseph D'Amico's story on the ceremony will appear later here at eastbayri.com and in the print edition of The Post, June 26.
