Fund-raiser planned for Bristol boy

On Saturday, Oct. 20, friends of 12-year old Cory Burke, will be sponsoring a benefit pasta dinner at St. Elizabeth Church. Cory, the youngest son of Jerry and Sue Burke, has recently been diagnosed with bone cancer. Cory is currently being treated at Boston’s Children’s Hospital and the Dana Farber Institute.

In an effort to provide financial and moral support to Cory and his family, friends have established the “Cory Won’t Fight Alone” Fund. The first fund-raiser is the pasta dinner which will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. The dinner will consist of macaroni and meatballs, salad and dessert. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children under 12, and free admission for children under 5.

Tickets can be purchased at Gil’s Appliances at 397 Metacom Avenue in Bristol. For further information, you can contact Cory Santerre (390-5113), Joe Simeone (374-1951) or Tim Serbst (578-7716). You can also visit an events page on Facebook for more information.

Donations can be made directly to 'The Cory Fund' at People's Credit Union at 50 Gooding Avenue in Bristol.
