Friends seek donations for Barbosa family in wake of East Providence teen's tragic death

EAST PROVIDENCE — Funeral arrangements have been made and friends of the family are seeking support in the wake East Providence resident Christiano T. Barbosa Jr.'s tragic death, Oct. 24, in a car accident on the Bryant University campus.

Young Mr. Barbosa, the son of Shannon and Christiano T. Barbosa Sr. and who also leaves behind three siblings, will be laid to rest Monday, Oct. 28. He will be waked Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Rebello Funeral Home, Broadway, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service takes place Monday at the Faith Christian Center, 95 Sagamore Rd., Seekonk, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Rumford Cemetery.

Family and friends have set up a fund in Christiano's name. Donations of any amount are currently being accepted. Those who donate will receive an 8x10 reproduction of "Reflections," a portrait of Freedom Green Park in Rumford at the corner of North Broadway and Centre Street.
