Volunteers prep cleared land for pollinator meadow

Posted

Volunteers from the Barrington Land Conservation Trust joined forces with neighbors of the St. Andrew's Farm Field to prepare and seed a recently-cleared portion of the property.

The team of volunteers met Saturday morning at the field and planted sections of the land with wildflower seeds, in hopes of creating a pollinator meadow. The initial work to clear a section of the town-owned property of bushes, invasive vegetation and some small trees drew the concern of some neighbors, but the group has come together recently.

Officials also thanked Barrington Town Manager Jim Cunha and Town Planner Phil Hervey for their assistance.
