Want a free beer? Stop by Blue Water Grille this Friday night.
Narragansett Beer Company is kicking off its Buy RI program this Friday, Feb. 8, with an event at Blue Water Grille in Barrington from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The program aims to celebrate neighborhood bars and restaurants around Rhode Island.
"For generations, Rhode Island’s bars and restaurants have acted as community centers where neighbors, regardless of their differences, get together over food and beer to talk about life," stated a recent press release from Narragansett Beer. "We go to our neighbors and our neighborhood bars to support each other, learn from one another, to console, celebrate, and share stories. They really are the lifeblood of both our community and our history.
"This year we want to celebrate these establishments and all of our neighbors in our small but mighty state, and thank you for making our community different and ever-changing. To do this, we want to buy everyone a ‘Gansett. Yep, every single person in the state if we can. You’ve earned it."
Narragansett Beer will host an event in each of the 39 cities and towns in Rhode Island, in alphabetical order. The first stop on the list is Blue Water Grille in Barrington.
"When you arrive, you’ll receive one of our iconic wooden nickels that you’ll be able to trade for a beer at the bar," stated the release. "The first 50 people at each event will receive a ‘Gansett pint glass as well!"
On Friday, Feb. 15, Narragansett Beer and its Buy RI program will make a stop at Thames Waterside in Bristol from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
