Boyfriend confesses to killing of Rachael Rene, 34

A Providence man has admitted to murdering his girlfriend, a former Warren resident, after he walked into Providence Police headquarters Tuesday and admitted to the crime.

Rachael Rene, 34, was found dead by police investigators in a home at 198 River Ave. later that day. Luis Matta, 34, has been charged with murder. The couple share a baby.

Mr. Matta is expected in district court on Wednesday.
