Evening of laughter to help Westport fire victims


Friends of the Habib (Meadowbrook Lane) and Sousa (Jillian Way) families who lost most of their belongings in house fires a week apart are working with Lafrance Hospitality to hold a "Road to Recovery Comedy Fundraiser at White's of Westport.

Appearing at the Friday, June 7, event will be Steve Lopes, 'The Portuguese Fireman.' The local native is now the opening act for Boston stand-up comic Craig Murphy.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8. There will also be raffle prizes.
