Eva Vail, 87, Bristol

Eva Vail, 87, died Monday, November 26, at Silver Creek Manor in Bristol. She was the daughter of the late Alfonsa and Anna Torchia.  Devoted wife of the late Eugene L. Vail II, Eva was a home maker and a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Fall River where she lived for many years before moving to Bristol.

Eva was the mother of Eugene Vail III (his wife Donna) and Anne Louise Estrella of Fall River; loving grandmother of Stacy Nash, Jody Camello, John Estrella, Kristopher and Matthew Vail, as well as nine great-grand children.  Eva was one of 11 children.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, November 29th.  Funeral service in the funeral home will start at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986.
