Elvira Lopes, 88, Warren

Elvira Lopes, 88, of Warren, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late Amancio J. Lopes.
Born in the Azores, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Neves) Leal. She was a factory worker at Carol Cable and was a member of St Thomas the Apostle Church.
She was the mother of Amancio Lopes, Manuel Lopes, Antonio Lopes, Elvira Vieira and Connie Lopes, all of Warren, and Fatima Gomes of Swansea. She also leaves 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Maria DeLurdes of Portugal.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family received friends Sunday, Jan. 27. Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 28, with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Warren. Burial followed in St Mary’s Cemetery.
