Elsie Beauregard, Warren

Elsie (DuPont) Beauregard ended her life's journey on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 in Warren, a few miles from where she was born on Monroe Avenue in Bristol. She would have celebrated the 50th anniversary of her 39th birthday next month.
She was well-known for her sense of humor and gentle heart. She loved gardening and had grown both large gardens to feed her family and small herb gardens outside her kitchen door. Her home was surrounded by flowers and the small birds and animals she loved to feed. She shared her home with many cats and dogs whom she loved dearly. She was an avid reader and artist and owned Mrs. B's Country Crafts with her husband. She would often invite strangers or those who would be alone on the holidays to her home for Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner. Her friends included motorcycle club members, politicians and everyone in between. If someone was alone, they always had a friend in Elsie.
She was married to the late Walter Beauregard Jr. on March 7, 1953, and they are survived by their three sons, Walter Beauregard III and his wife Donice, Dale Beauregard and Karl Beauregard and his wife Mary Sward; four grandchildren, Jacob, Allison, Rachelle and Kyle; and five great-grandchildren.  She was the daughter of Edwize Cabral DuPont and Manual DuPont and was predeceased by her brother, George DuPont.
She was the past president of the Warren PTA, The Massasoit Historical Association, and a member of the board of directors of the George Haile Library and the East Bay Mental Health Center.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services are at 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, from the funeral home, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Metacom Avenue. Burial will follow in the North Burial Ground, Bristol.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Providence Animal Rescue League, 34 Elbow Street, Providence, RI 02903 would be appreciated.
Elsie Beauregard
