Elderly Warren man pinned underneath his car in Barrington

People had to come to the rescue of an 84-year-old Warren man after he became pinned underneath his own car in Barrington on Monday, June 10.

Barrington police received a phone call at about noon alerting officers to an elderly man who was stuck under the opened driver's side door of his own car on Bay Spring Avenue. Witnesses told police that the man had gotten out of his car, and thinking it was in park, started to move away from the vehicle. That's when the Buick rolled back over the man, dragged him a few feet and left him trapped beneath the opened driver's side door.

The man screamed for help, and passersby rushed to free him.

A rescue transported the man to an area hospital, although he appeared to be in pretty good shape following the mishap.
