Elderly Portsmouth woman dies in crash


PORTSMOUTH — The 80-year-old woman who was severely injured in a single-car crash on Bristol Ferry Road yesterday has died, according to police

Ann Domingoes of Portsmouth was pronounced dead at Newport Hospital after rescue workers transported her there following the accident, which took place shortly before noon Wednesday near Newport Harbor Drive, according to Detective Lt. A.J. Bucci.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the 2009 Subaru Impreza, being operated by Ms. Domingoes north on Bristol Ferry Road, crossed over the double yellow lines and collided head on with a telephone pole.

The accident remains under investigation by Portsmouth police.
