Edith B. Marchesi, 79, Little Compton

Edith B. (Bowen) Marchesi, 79, of Little Compton, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017, at John Clarke Retirement & Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Frank J. Marchesi.

Mrs. Marchesi was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Robert M. and Adelaide S. (Medeiros) Bowen, and had been a lifelong resident of Little Compton. Prior to her retirement in 2008, she worked for the Little Compton School Department for 29 years. She was an avid knitter and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her adopted daughter, Elizabeth Skye Marchesi of Hawaii; her step son, Kimber Marchesi of Little Compton; a brother, Charles G. Case of Fall River; two sisters, Joan M. Koehn of Little Compton and Judith A. Stroum of Tiverton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the step-daughter of the late Charles B. Case and sister of the late Mary F. Monteiro.

Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be Wednesday, March 29, at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport, at 11:30 a.m.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, at the funeral home, from 10-11:30 a.m., prior to the service.

Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Tiverton, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Potter League for Animals, P.O. Box 412, Newport, RI 02840.
