East Providence schools celebrate annual 'Townie Pride' parade

Posted

EAST PROVIDENCE — As they have done for the last several falls on a football Friday night, East Providence school administrators, students, parents, teachers and politicians showed their enthusiasm by taking part in the annual "Townie Pride" parade prior to the locals' gridiron game against Tolman, Oct. 25, at Pierce Memorial Stadium.

East Providence Post and eastbayri.com photographer Bill Murphy chronicled the event through pictures, which included over 200 participants. The night also included an emotional moment of silence for deceased 2013 EPHS Christiano Barbosa, who died the previous day in a tragic car accident on the Bryant University campus in Smithfield.
