East Providence parking ban is in effect


EAST PROVIDENCE — The East Providence Police Department has issued a parking ban due to an expected significant amount of snow over the next several hours.

Several inches of snow are forecast for East Providence throughout Saturday evening and into Sunday, Dec. 30. The parking ban is expected to be lifted noon Sunday.

The national weather service has issued a winter storm watch for Rhode Island and Southeastern New England. Some areas could see as much as a foot of snow from the storm.
