EAST PROVIDENCE — East Providence High School baseball team crushed Central, 12-2, at Pierce Field on Sunday in a best-of-three Division II playoff semifinals series.

Game 2 of the semis is scheduled for Monday, June 9. A third game, if necessary, is set for Tuesday, June 10.

The winners move on to the Division II championship series at Pawtucket’s McCoy Stadium scheduled to begin on June 17. The Townies did not meet North Smithfield this season. As is the case with the Knights, Classical is also a member of II-Central. E.P. swept its two games against the Purple, winning by the scores of 2-0 and 1-0.
