PROVIDENCE — Weather will interrupt the 90th playing of the East Providence High School-LaSalle Academy Thanksgiving Day football game.

Administrators at both schools announced due to predicted temperatures below the norm and below the RIIL safe climate playing guidelines, the game between the Townies and Rams has been postponed and will now be played on "Black Friday," Nov. 23, at 6 p.m. at LaSalle's Cimini Field.

The contest was originally slated for a 10 a.m. start November 22, but temperatures are predicted to start the day in just the teens and only reach a high of the low to mid 20s throughout the afternoon and evening. Friday's forecast actually isn't much better, though temps are expected to at least be around freezing (32 degrees) for much of the day.
