East Providence initiates parking ban in anticipation of storm


EAST PROVIDENCE — The late-season winter storm expected to dump possibly as much as six inches of snow in the area has led several communities, including East Providence, to initiate a parking ban.

The ban begins at noon on Thursday, March 7, and remains in effect through Friday. Snow was expected to start falling overnight with periods of rain and sleet mixed into the forecast over the next 36 hours.
