East Providence cancels school Tuesday

EAST PROVIDENCE — East Providence schools will be closed Tuesday, Oct. 30, the system becoming the latest in the area to shut down due to the continued effects of Hurricane Sandy.

St. Mary Academy-Bay View in city and Seekonk High were among the first of those local schools that canceled classes for Tuesday, doing so just after 5 p.m. Monday night. East Providence eventually followed suit a few hours later.

It make sense for Bay View, especially, to take the day off considering so many of its students come from outside of East Providence. In addition, St. Luke Elementary, just across the city line in Barrington, has also canceled classes for Tuesday.

Also, Gymboree Play and Music in Seekonk as well as the Seekonk Christian Academy have canceled all activities for Oct. 30.

CODAC - East Bay, located in East Providence, is closed Tuesday.

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
