Downtown Bristol in final phase of road work


From October 9 ‐ 13, 2012, the RI Department of Transportation will continue the final phase of work on Hope Street and Thames Street.

On Hope Street, from Constitution Street to Thames Street, crews will remove old trash bins and installing new bins, new ornamental benches and bicycle racks. Other work includes cleaning manhole covers, frames and grates, and utility gate boxes.

On Thames Street, from Hope Street to Constitution Street, workers will lay‐out and apply pavement markings. Remaining traffic control devices will be removed, and driveways along the project area will be prepared for asphalt application.

No parking will be allowed within the designated work zones. Signs will be posted. Parking will be allowed in all other areas outside the work zone, with the local ordinance enforced.
