Doris I. Drapeau, 93, of Tiverton, passed into eternal life on October 18, 2017, surrounded by her family in her home.

She was the daughter of the late Emelda and Arthur St. Laurent and sister to Blanche, Jeanne, Arthur and Edgar.

She is survived by the love of her life and husband, Philippe Drapeau; daughter, Denise Drapeau-Walker and son in law David Walker of Jamestown; two step grandchildren, Chris and Nicholas Walker; and her son, Philippe Drapeau and daughter in law, Carol Ann of Tiverton; and beloved grandchildren, Lily Mello, Mae and Troy Drapeau, all in Tiverton, and many nieces and nephews.

Doris graduated from Dominican Academy and maintained some lifelong friends from her Alma Mater.

Doris  was an active member and "church lady" of St Christopher's  Church and affectionately known as the "Hat Lady.” She made hats part of her fashion statement and was the envy of her parish.

She also had a weakness for shoes which she passed along to her daughter and granddaughters.

She also actively belonged to many organizations including the Ladies Church Group, the Tiverton Yacht Club, Tiverton Garden Club, the Doll Club, and participated in the Pardon Gray Trust. The Fort Barton Woods were much visited and hiked with her family and friends.

Doris loved being on the water. She was First Mate to an Old Sailor for 67 years. She was a great crew and sailor on numerous sailboats that she and Phil owned and embraced many sailing adventures . The fine yacht,"Janie D,” provided lots of fun and many sea stories with family and friends.

A beautiful sunset was always a cherished moment for Doris and Phil. A drive to Fogland was a regular destination any day of the week year-round.

She loved gardening. The lush park that she called a yard was a wonderful testimony to her green thumb. She also was an animal lover, having raised and cared for numerous pets and some very special and cherished Golden Retrievers. She was always ready for an adventure with her husband Phil. She was an active world traveler. He only had to ask and her reply was, "I will pack our bags".

Her life was full and active. As a young girl she studied acrobatic tap and was quite a dancer. After all, she had a wonderful dance partner, Phil.

She never ceased to amaze her grandchildren with a few effortless cartwheels in her backyard.

A private memorial service in her honor will be held in Doris and Phil's yard during the blossom of her favorite rare and magnificent White Fringe Tree.
