Dolores A. (Paradis) Sousa, 86, formerly of Tiverton, passed away on Feb. 21, 2018, in Maine. She was the widow of William Walter Sousa Sr. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of Mary (Finnerty) and Elzear (Jack) Paradis.

Dolores had worked in management at the Fall River Knitting Mills then went back to school earning a degree in health care services. She furthered her career by joining Community Connections Inc., first as a Program Aide, then as a Senior Instructor, being promoted to Program Manager and Transportation Coordinator, the position she held for eight years up until her retirement.  She was loved and respected by her staff.

Dolores loved the life of a military family for over 22 years and lived and traveled with her sons and husband in many places, including Texas, Florida, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria,  Amsterdam, Holland, Ohio and Maine.

Dolores had an endless supply of love for her family and talked often of her parents, five sisters and brother, her sons, grandsons, great grandsons, nieces and nephews.  She was a loyal caregiver for her sister and husband, always putting her loved ones before herself.

She is survived by her two sons, William W. Sousa and his wife Terry of Gorham, Maine, and Glenn V. Sousa and his partner Michael Williams of Somerset, Mass. She leaves two grandsons, Alan Sousa and his wife Kim of Warwick, and John Sousa and his fiancé Kristen of Old Orchard Beach, Maine. She was also the grandmother of Olivia, Joy and Kayla, daughters of Terry Sousa.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 1, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, 462 Main Road, Tiverton, prior to a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church.  Burial at Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton.  Flowers are welcome.  www.almeida-pocasset.com for on line guest book.
