Discuss Westport’s budget at a public session Saturday

Posted

All are invited to discuss Annual Town Meeting matters in a setting less formal than Town Meeting, which is coming up on Tuesday, May 1.

On Saturday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to noon, the Finance Committee will hold a public session in the media center at the Westport Jr./Sr. High School, 19 Main Road, for the purpose of discussing this year’s proposed operating budget, the warrant articles to be voted on, and the procedures that govern the handling of all Town Meeting matters.

Do you have questions about the town’s sources of revenue? The fiscal year ’19 budget? How capital budget decisions are made? Where free cash will go this year? Come to an open meeting where you can ask questions in an informal environment and leave with a better understanding of how your taxpayer money is spent.

If you cannot attend, you can still submit a question and watch the session broadcast live on Charter/Spectrum Channel 191. Questions can be emailed to westportfinancecommittee@gmail.com.
