Day of Action Family Volunteer Opportunity

Get ready to sort, label, and pack. United Way of Rhode Island’s Annual Day of Action is Saturday, June 2. Volunteers will sort, label, and pack books — preparing them for distribution to Rhode Island youth in summer learning programs across the state. Over the past 6 years, we have collected and sorted 164,769 books with the help of our amazing volunteers and our partner, Books Are Wings.

Mike Rego has worked at East Bay Newspapers since 2001, helping the company launch The Westport Shorelines. He soon after became a Sports Editor, spending the next 10-plus years in that role before taking over as editor of The East Providence Post in February of 2012.
