David Sousa, 83, Warren

David Sousa, 83, of North Cornell Avenue,  Warren, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of Joan (Gagnon) Sousa
Born in Bristol, he was the son of  Manual and Maria (Borges) Sousa.  He lived in Warren most of his life. Before retiring, he was employed at Kleistone Rubber Company,  Brown University and Pawtucket Memorial Hospital.
Besides his wife, David leaves two daughters, Robin Whalen of North Dighton, Mass. and Kristy Leveillee of Providence.  He also leaves two grandsons, Thomas Whalen of Seekonk and Max Leveillee  of Providence.  He is survived by his brother John Sousa of Warren and sisters Edawese Sousa of Warren and Florence Roderick of Florida.  He was the brother of the late Antonio Sousa, Joseph Sousa, Albert Sousa, Manuel Sousa and Alice Kallstrom.
Arrangements were with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where the family received friends Tuesday Sept. 4.  Funeral services followed at St. Dominic’s Church, GAR Highway, Swansea, MA.  Interment was private.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Visiting Nurse Services of Newport and Bristol Counties.
