David J. Machado, 48, Greenville, RI


David John Machado, 48, of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 5, 2013. He was the husband of Kristen Mayo-Machado.

Born in Taunton, a son of Robert and Ellen (Stawniak) Machado, he was a long-time area resident. Mr. Machado was an automation technician and was employed by Materion in Lincoln for many years.

Besides his wife and parents, he leaves three sons, Nathan and Joshua Machado of Cranston and Eric Mayo of Arkansas; a daughter, Gillian Mayo of Greenville; a brother, James Machado of North Carolina; three sisters, Christine and Tracy Pullen of Warren and Debbie Machado; nephews Garrett and Randy Pullen and Christopher DeCosta; and a niece, Abigail Fontaine.

Arrangements are in the care of Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where the family received friends Friday, May 10. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 11 in the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made to the Rhode Island Special Olympics, 370 George Washington Hwy., Smithfield RI 02917.
